This event recording features keynote speaker and inaugural visiting scholar Rachel Zellars, Ph.D., who examines the evolution of the application of merit criteria and its impact on the equitable treatment of different groups of employees, with a focus on Black public servants.
KAIROS Blanket Exercise
This exercise, delivered in partnership with KAIROS Canada, provides public servants with a unique participatory history lesson that focuses on the loss of Indigenous lands and the cultural assimilation policies. Participants will engage on intellectual and emotional levels to deepen their understanding of the shared history of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.

Participants will benefit from a refresher on best practices for creating a positive impression when making phone calls and when recording and leaving voice messages.

Labour Relations in the Federal Public Sector
This online self-paced course presents the fundamentals of labour relations in the federal public sector, including rules and best practices to follow when managing employees. Participants will study the policy and legislative frameworks that govern labour relations and gain a better understanding of the rights, obligations, roles and responsibilities of management, employees and bargaining agents.
Language of Work: Knowing One's Rights and Responsibilities and Maintaining One's Skills - Levels B and C
This online self-paced course reviews individual rights and responsibilities with respect to language of work and provides an opportunity to practise second language skills at the B and C levels in different workplace situations. Participants will learn about the expected use of official languages in the workplace, and will benefit from practical exercises focused on maintaining their second official language skills in writing and supervisory, meeting and training situations.
