Description

Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus) is both an analytical tool and a process that supports decision-making and the development of responsive and inclusive policies, programs and initiatives. This online self-paced course provides an introduction to GBA Plus and explains how it goes beyond sex and gender to consider other identity factors that interact to shape social, health, and economic opportunities and outcomes. Participants will learn how to turn their GBA Plus insights into action by reflecting on recurring barriers to accessing government services and exploring ways to mitigate them.

Topics include:

  • defining the key concepts of GBA Plus
  • applying foundational GBA Plus concepts and processes
  • identifying how GBA Plus can enhance an initiative
  • meeting the diverse needs of those most impacted
  • anticipating and mitigating barriers to accessing or benefitting from GBA Plus

Notes:

The “Plus” in Gender-based Analysis Plus acknowledges that this approach goes beyond sex and gender differences to include other identity factors, like race, ethnicity, religion, age, language, education, and mental or physical disability.
