Description

Canada is experiencing record-breaking climate events, with wide-ranging impacts on nature, people and the economy highlighting the urgent need to adapt to our changing climate. This online self-paced course explains the topics of climate change adaptation and resilience through practical examples that are relevant to public servants. Participants will learn why adapting to climate change is essential for building resilient communities and a strong economy while striving for net-zero emissions in Canada.

Topics include:

  • explaining why climate change adaptation matters for Canadians and the federal public service
  • exploring the relationship between climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • reviewing case studies and other examples of adaptation in practice
  • examining the role of public servants in building climate resilience

Notes:

Applying Climate Literacy Foundations (CHC101) is a prerequisite for this course.

Learners are also invited to register for Contributing to a Net-Zero Canada (CHC102) to learn more about the role of climate change mitigation in building a climate-resilient, net-zero Canada.
