Description

By registering to this course, you consent that your learner data will be shared with the host organization that owns this product.

The Directive on Classification provides flexibility to organizations by enabling individuals who are not accredited and sub-delegated in classification to process and approve classification actions. This online self-paced course explores classification actions that are common to organizational design and classification professionals, and provides the foundational knowledge needed to perform these actions. Participants will be guided through several practical scenarios, including how to create, change and delete positions within their organization.

Topics include:

  • creating a position using a standardized job description
  • changing the reporting relationship of a position
  • changing the title of a position
  • deleting a position

Notes:

This course is mandatory and must be taken before individuals can exercise Section 4.4 of the Directive on Classification. Persons trained in organizational design and classification must be authorized to exercise these responsibilities through a formal mechanism established by their organization.

This course is also part of the mandatory learning curriculum for human resources advisors seeking an accreditation in organizational design and classification.

This course is delivered and maintained by Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
