Description

This course is delivered and maintained by Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.

Procurement practitioners play a crucial role in contributing to and delivering on Canada’s Greening Government Strategy and the wider Federal Sustainable Development Strategy. This course bridges theory into practice by examining the role of procurement officers and their ability to develop strategic approaches. This course incorporates green and other complex socio-economic considerations into government contracts supporting Program Delivery to Canadians.

Topics include:

  • understanding the Circular Economy and its elements
  • the roles of key stakeholders and their responsibilities in greening initiatives
  • sourcing greener goods, services, and suppliers
  • identifying risks and opportunities associated with Green Procurement
  • applying Green Procurement strategies to the acquisition of goods and services
