Integrating intellectual property considerations into the program design process directly supports funding programs achieving their goals. This online self-paced course shares best practices and imparts essential knowledge for identifying and applying intellectual property (IP) considerations when administering federal grants and contributions programs. Participants will explore key IP concepts, policy requirements, and the role of IP across the program life cycle, including in recipient selection, funding agreements, reporting and performance evaluation.

Topics include:

  • understanding the importance of IP in Government of Canada programs
  • identifying key IP concepts and their relevance in funded projects
  • understanding a programs’ IP approach and the considerations that influence it
