Description

The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer and Public Services and Procurement Canada introduced four new measures to reinforce best human resources (HR) and pay practices and enhance the reliability and consistency of HR data. Starting in July 2024, managers and section 34 managers whose organizations use the Phoenix pay system will be expected to apply these measures.

This informative event will provide managers with an overview of the new measures to help increase the accuracy and promptness of pay for employees and prepare the Government of Canada for the future state of HR and pay.

Participants will learn how to successfully implement these important new measures, which include:

  • maximize the use of Phoenix self-serve functions (for Pay Centre departments only)
  • align core employee information in departmental HR systems to predefined standards
  • hire new term employees for at least seven months if an extension is anticipated
  • have predetermined HR actions take effect the day after pay day
