The Public Service Employment Act makes managers responsible and accountable for their staffing. This course presents a practical framework for exercising delegated staffing authority as a manager. Participants will be taken through various scenarios to reflect and exchange on the considerations to be taken into account during the staffing process and the implications of each.

This online self-paced course outlines the benefits of design research and introduces common methodologies and key considerations for conducting data-driven, user-centric research in the public service context. Participants will learn how to properly formulate design research questions and apply best practices to obtain answers that are evidence-based and derived from reliable user data.
This online self-paced course presents the foundational methods and tools needed to identify and analyze problems that need solving. Participants will learn how to apply these discovery methods in their work and use sound problem framing to set up the next steps in the design process.
