Description

To ensure the continued delivery of critical operations during emergencies, federal organizations must plan for potential service disruptions by conducting a business impact analysis (BIA). This online self-paced course explains how to conduct a BIA using the Government of Canada’s official methodology, as outlined in its Business Continuity Management Program Guide (2023). Participants will learn how to identify BIA components, communicate their value and align their work with federal business continuity management practices.

  • identifying the diverse roles and responsibilities in the business continuity management (BCM) process
  • applying the Government of Canada’s official business impact analysis methodology
  • analyzing the criticality of services and delivery requirements

Pathway 1: BCM Specialist Pathway (4 hours): Designed for those leading and facilitating the BIA process as part of a BCM program. Ideal for BCM specialists and coordinators seeking in-depth knowledge of the Government of Canada’s BIA methodology and application.
