Description

Departments and agencies use a variety of solicitation methods to acquire goods and services through competitive contracts. This course covers two critical elements of the solicitation process: the statement of work and the evaluation criteria for bids submitted. Participants will learn how to write proper requirements to obtain their desired product or service and how to set evaluation criteria that will help select the appropriate bidder.

Topics include:

• identifying the components of a proper statement of work
• understanding the implications of trade agreements
• defining the requirements of the contract
• assessing, managing and mitigating contract risks
• selecting a contractor

Notes:

To gain a better understanding of the subject matter, participants are strongly recommended to complete Overview of Procurement (COR403) or the combination of Procurement Fundamentals (COR401) and The Procurement Process (COR402) before registering to to COR407.
