Description
The management of the federal government's extensive real property portfolio is based on a solid framework of legislation, regulations, policies, directives and guides. This online self-paced course provides an overview of federal government real property assets, how they are managed and the legal and policy requirements around them. Participants will learn about opportunities to measure and improve asset performance, and will gain insights into how real property decisions are made.
Topics include:
- recognizing the importance of managing real property at both the individual asset and portfolio levels
- understanding what constitutes effective real property information management
- describing real property governance, the accountability regime, and policy requirements
- identifying the key elements of a successful approach to managing real property in the federal government
Notes:
This course is mandatory for procurement and materiel management specialists, but is open to all federal public servants who are interested in real property.
