Canada, like most other countries, is experiencing a rapid transformation in the delivery of digital services and must keep pace with expectations. This course explains the roles of the information management (IM) community and the new program delivery techniques outlined in the Government of Canada's Digital Ambition. Through a blend of self-paced and virtual instructor-led learning, participants will explore the main trends influencing the field of information management and the IM activities that are supporting the government's transformation towards providing secure and modern digital services.

Topics include:

  • correlating IM trends and requirements with IM policy and strategic tools
  • conceptualizing a new information life cycle in the digital age
  • presenting a learning path for new IM professionals
  • exploring the IM knowledge and skills required in the workplace

Notes:

This course builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in Information Management in the Government of Canada (COR505) and focuses on applying information management in the digital age, as outlined in the Government of Canada's Digital Ambition.

This course is offered in a hybrid format. It is comprised of 5 online self-paced modules, which together take approximately 3 hours to complete, followed by a 2.5-hour virtual instructor-led session.
