Description

Algorithms increasingly form the backbone of modern technology and govern everything from web searches to artificial intelligence (AI). As they become more integrated into our daily lives, there is growing concern that algorithm-mediated patterns may be having negative effects on our mental health and well-being.

This forward-looking event will unpack the unintended consequences and ethical implications of artificial intelligence on mental health and psychological well-being, and examine how to minimize these risks and other potential negative impacts.

Participants will learn about the ethical principles of AI development, where AI is intersecting with mental health, and how to support societal well-being in a period of rapid technological and cultural evolution.

This event is presented in partnership with the Mila-Quebec AI institute and is intended to connect public servants with Canada's leading AI thinkers.
