Description

Rapid technological change, including the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), comes with both promise and peril. Deepfakes, misinformation and algorithmic biases are just some of the many technological concerns threatening democratic values today.

This event will explore how AI can enhance democratic processes by promoting transparency and accountability, combating disinformation, improving election integrity, and enabling voter engagement.

Participants will learn about the ethical and social impacts of AI and the related issues of governance and institutional design, with an emphasis on how new technologies are changing public relations and political structures.

This event is presented in partnership with the Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute and is intended to connect public servants with Canada's leading AI thinkers.
