The rapid changes in technology ushered in by the Fourth Industrial Revolution offer significant opportunities for the Government of Canada to continuously improve its service delivery. And yet, institutional barriers to aggressive digital transformation persist.

This event, featuring renowned expert on digital government David Eaves, will explore what government in the digital era can look like, supported by technologies like cloud computing and artificial intelligence, and changes in organizational and leadership cultures. How do these all contribute to building a more adaptable and revitalized public service?

Participants will gain valuable insight into how governments can navigate the complex challenges and obstacles to digital transformation and set the conditions for a comprehensive digital renewal.

David Eaves is an Associate Professor of Digital Transformation at the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose at UCL. David cofounded Teaching Public Service in a Digital Age, which has sought to bring together faculty from around the world to co-design a curriculum to teach digital competencies for future public leaders. In addition to his teaching, David advises Co-Develop, a philanthropic fund that helps emerging markets deploy digital public infrastructure. He also was a co-founder and CEO of a successful GovTech firm that grew to serve over 300 government clients.
