An important goal of effective product management is to ensure that the product meets the needs of its intended users. This online self-paced course introduces the key concepts of product management and recommends best practices for creating products in a public service context. Participants will learn about product teams, including the different roles, responsibilities and skillsets of team members, as well as some of the tools available to assist them.

Topics include:

  • introducing product management terminology
  • guiding product development from conception to delivery
  • defining the roles and responsibilities of product teams
  • applying design thinking, Agile practices, and human-centred design approaches

Notes:

This course is intended for newcomers to product management in the public service, including project managers retraining as product managers, first-time product managers, product owners, and new employees working in product development teams.
