Description

The first step in the design process is to understand the problem space, which involves exploring the circumstances behind a problem. This online self-paced course presents the foundational methods and tools needed to identify and analyze problems that need solving. Participants will learn how to apply these discovery methods in their work and use sound problem framing to set up the next steps in the design process.

Topics include:

  • identifying and framing the problem to be solved
  • identifying the real people impacted by the problem
  • exploring empathy mapping
  • setting boundaries for solutions in a government context
