Description

Strong cyber security is essential for protecting the Government of Canada's data, information and systems. Building on the knowledge acquired from Discover Cyber Security (DDN235), this online self-paced course validates learners' understanding of common cyber risks, threats and security vulnerabilities through a series of interactive tasks in a game-based learning experience. Participants will be prompted to demonstrate how to best protect themselves, their data, their digital profile and the systems they use from potential threats, including social engineering, malware and password attacks.

Topics include:

  • reinforcing the importance of cyber security
  • protecting against malware and other cyber threats
  • revisiting the cyber security responsibilities of public servants
  • applying best practices for cyber security

Notes:

Cyber security training is now mandatory for all employees within the core public administration. Learners must complete Discover Cyber Security (DDN235) as a prerequisite before registering for DDN247. Learners must then revalidate annually by redoing DDN247 (recommended) or Discover Cyber Security (DDN235). Learners will receive a certificate of completion after successfully completing either course.
