Description

The annual GC Data Conference, now in its eighth year, is the primary forum for public servants and data leaders to increase awareness, share knowledge, and advance data applications across the Government of Canada.

With the theme of "From Insight to Foresight", the GC Data Conference 2024 will explore issues and opportunities related to the responsible use of artificial intelligence, data and process automation, and applying human-centred principles to data activities.

Attending in person

All are welcome to enjoy the full GC Data Conference virtually. In addition, we are planning to invite a limited number of members of the data community to join us in person on February 21, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm (ET) at 111 Sussex Drive in Ottawa.

The in-person portion of the conference will bring together various departments and agencies to hear from data leaders and network with colleagues. Join the live audience to participate in:

  • A panel discussion on enhancing human potential through responsible AI
  • A panel discussion on imagining personalized services for all Canadians with AI
  • A fireside chat with Shoshana Zuboff, Professor Emerita, Harvard Business School, and Jim Balsillie, Co-Founder of the Centre for International Governance Innovation and Chair of the Council of Canadian Innovators
  • Closing remarks delivered by Kristina Casey, Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Digital Officer, Transport Canada
  • An in-person reception

Due to limited space at the venue, we are compiling expressions of interest to attend in person. You will receive an email confirming that you have joined the waitlist. You will receive a separate email with the subject line “Accepted from waitlist” if your request to attend in person is approved.

Visit the GC Data Conference 2024 website for the latest updates, program, speaker bios, and more.
