Description

“You can’t do digital without data,” says Chief Data Officer of Canada Stephen Burt. Data interoperability enables the use of various datasets, while data standards are specifications used to standardize the way data is described, represented and structured to facilitate interoperability. Enterprise data standards and data interoperability allow departments and agencies to better deliver services and information to individuals, businesses, organizations, and each other to meet the needs of a digital society.

This informative event features a panel of data practitioners who will share their success stories, the challenges they are striving to overcome, as well as their insights and experience implementing the Government of Canada Enterprise Data Reference Standards, the Standard on Metadata, as well as the Standards on Systems that Manage Information and Data.

Participants will gain a greater appreciation of how data standards and data interoperability drive informed decision-making when delivering services, and will better understand how their respective departmental standards might be eligible for endorsement as a Government of Canada-wide standard.
