The Government of Canada's new Policy on Service and Digital serves as the foundation for making Canada a leader in today's data-driven, digital global economy. This course explores the different ways that data is used within the Government of Canada, including its opportunities and challenges at the individual and organizational levels. Participants will share their stories and experiences with data-driven projects, gain new insights about the role of data, and enhance their data literacy skills.

Topics include:

  • applying commonly used data terms and concepts
  • explaining how the government uses data
  • recognizing why data skills are so important
  • identifying one's own role with data and how it fits with other organizational roles
  • leveraging key resources
