Description

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly transforming how public servants analyze information, create content, and consider solutions to complex problems. This course expands on the foundations of generative AI by exploring its more advanced capabilities and how to use it responsibly and effectively in the Government of Canada. Participants will learn more about the functions of generative AI to help them think strategically and exercise judgment when making decisions around the use of generative AI tools.

Topics include:

• understanding how generative AI systems produce outputs and complete tasks, as well as recognizing their challenges
• evaluating and improving the quality, accuracy, and relevance of generative AI‑assisted work
• interacting with generative AI through iterative prompting and thoughtful judgment
• identifying responsible generative AI use cases to support individual and team productivity
• recognizing governance, accountability and ethical considerations when using generative AI

Notes:

This course is intended for participants who already have basic awareness of generative AI concepts and tools and who have successfully completed Using Generative Artificial Intelligence in the Government of Canada (DDN321).
