Description

While feminist foreign policy varies greatly in its application globally, anchoring gender equality into policy areas and protecting the human rights of women and girls remain shared goals for many governments.

This event features Susan Markham, co-author of Feminist Foreign Policy in Theory and in Practice, who will discuss how governments have implemented feminist foreign, development, and trade policies at the multilateral and national levels.

Participants will learn about active issues in foreign policy, multilateral and bilateral engagements, and the strides being taken in promoting gender equality and social inclusion.

Speaker

  • Susan Markham, Director, Peace With Women Fellowship Program, Halifax International Security Forum, and former Senior Coordinator for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, United States Agency for International Development
