Description

A worrying trend has emerged in democratic countries: citizen dissatisfaction with government, citing a lack of representation as a key concern. To rebuild trust, governments worldwide are experimenting with innovative approaches to engage directly with citizens, foster deliberation and collaborate on pressing social problems.

This event will explore how governments around the world are engaging citizens in direct and novel ways to improve policies and strengthen democracies that empower populations to help solve critical issues and contribute to the work being done by their government.

Participants will learn about best practices used around the world for deliberative democracy and engagement, and how to work more directly with the public to further bolster democracy.
