Description
The Manion Lecture is the Canada School of Public Service's flagship event and serves as a thought-provoking forum for addressing pressing public policy and public management issues. As Canada faces mounting fiscal pressures and growing demands for efficient public services, the need to rethink how government operates has never been more urgent.
This premier event features the Honourable Jocelyne Bourgon, former Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet, and President Emeritus of the Canada School of Public Service, who offers her reflections on Canada's governance journey and the bold reforms needed to build an agile public service. With a distinguished career spanning decades in the federal public service, Madame Bourgon provides a unique perspective on what has already happened, what is happening now, and what needs to happen next.
Participants will gain valuable insights into how strategic reallocation, innovation, and simplification can transform Canada’s public service to better support evolving economic priorities, and will walk away with practical ideas for building a more effective, resilient, and future-ready government.
