Description
Democracy is championed domestically and internationally as being essential for the protection of rights and freedoms. However, measuring its strength and addressing a declining trust in democratic institutions remain ongoing challenges.
This event addresses the advantages and shortcomings of traditional indicators and tools used to measure democracy, and examines the evolving dynamics of trust in democratic institutions, an issue that involves federal public servants and the important work they do.
Participants will gain insights into the methodologies applied in evaluating democracy and how an increasing distrust of democratic institutions can manifest and impact societies.
