Description
Public servants play a vital role in shaping policies, programs, and services that deliver meaningful results for Canadians. This course provides a foundational understanding of a results management approach to help guide the planning, implementation and adjustment of government initiatives to maximize their impact. Participants will learn how to use performance measurement, evaluation and other key tools to support informed decision-making, enhance program effectiveness, and demonstrate accountability to taxpayers.
Topics include:
- managing for successful results in the Government of Canada
- defining, measuring, monitoring, and evaluating results when adjusting policies, programs and services
- leveraging evaluation as a tool for learning, strategic decision-making, and accountability
- understanding the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s Policy on Results, its requirements and how they serve to drive better outcomes
