Public service managers have an obligation to apply the core values of the public sector in their decisions, behaviours and work environments. This online self-paced course helps managers to better understand the foundational concept of values and ethics, and how to apply it when dealing with conflicts of interest, ethical dilemmas, harassment situations and other issues of workplace well-being. Through practical exercises and case studies, participants will identify, discuss and apply the key principles and policies related to values and ethics in the public sector.

This course consists of two virtual sessions to help registrants prepare for their participation in the virtual edition of the Manager Development Program (MDPv). Participants will learn how to optimize their learning experience as it unfolds over the subsequent months and assess their personality traits in advance of the actual program.
This online self-paced course introduces the foundational public sector values and ethical behaviours presented in the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector. Through informative exercises and scenarios, participants will learn how to identify values and ethics principles and how to integrate them into their work routines and practices.
This online self-paced course examines the functions of Parliament, the Government of Canada and the federal public service, as well as the organizational relationships between these entities. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how government works and the vital part they play in its critical operations.
