This course provides job aid links for key tasks requiring the Phoenix employee self-service feature. These tools are consolidated in a downloadable document that can be found within the Conclusion module, in section 3.2.
All employees have a role to play in being paid accurately and on time. This online self-paced course presents realistic scenarios that explain how employees in the federal public service are paid and common situations that can affect employee pay. Participants will learn about their responsibilities related to HR-to-pay processes and how submitting information on time is important for accurate and timely employee pay.
Topics include:
- understanding the foundational elements of HR-to-pay
- explaining common situations that can result in changes to employee pay
- identifying the different roles involved in ensuring accurate and timely employee pay
- using practical tools and job aids to complete HR-to-pay actions
- outlining the HR-to-pay responsibilities and entitlements in accordance with federal acts, policies, directives, and collective agreements

This course is intended for employees who are a part of the core public administration. The core public administration is defined in the Financial Administration Act as "the departments named in Schedule 1 and other portions of the federal public administration named in Schedule IV." These organizations have the Treasury Board as their employer.
