Description

The Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector provides a common foundation that guides federal public servants in their decisions, actions and conduct in the workplace. This course explores the values from the Values and Ethics Code and connects them to common workplace scenarios. Participants will deepen their understanding of how values are to be applied in everyday work scenarios, and how to support ethical behaviours across a range of workplace contexts.

Topics include:

• reflecting on how the public service can be a calling and more than just a job
• analyzing intent versus impact in ethical decision-making
• exercising judgment in practical situations
• identifying practical strategies that support ethical behaviour

Notes:

Through facilitator-led instruction and practical examples, participants will use interactive tools such as chats, word clouds, and polls as a part of a large-group virtual setting.

This course is open to all public servants, regardless of level or experience, and is recommended as a follow-up to Values and Ethics Foundations for Employees (FON301).
