Description

Commissioner of Official Languages of Canada Raymond Théberge’s mandate ends in January 2025. Since he took office in 2018, he has witnessed significant changes in Canada’s linguistic landscape, including the modernization of the Official Languages Act.

This event will highlight the important role of federal public servants in fully implementing the Official Languages Act, the protection of Canadians’ linguistic rights, and the difficulties facing official language minority communities.

Participants will learn about the current commissioner’s inclusive, optimistic vision for the future of official languages in Canada. Following the main presentation, a question period will allow you to ask the commissioner about his fascinating experience as a staunch advocate for linguistic rights in this country.
