Description
The International Day of La Francophonie is celebrated around the world each March 20th to highlight the vitality of the French language and the diversity of Francophone culture.
Organized in partnership with Canadian Heritage and in collaboration with the Théâtre Cercle Molière [Molière Circle Theatre], this event will honour the Francophone theatre scene on the occasion of the Franco-Manitoban Theatre Company’s 100th season. In celebration of this milestone, an adaptation of the play Ô Canada, Té Qui Toi? [O Canada, who are you?] will be performed. The play will focus on the identity and inclusion of newcomers, drawing inspiration from demographic changes in rural Francophone communities and paving the way for new ways of living together.
Participants will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the power of art as a space for reflection and will have an opportunity to engage in a panel discussion with the artists about Francophone cultural diversity. Participants are encouraged to expand their horizons by sparking their curiosity and strengthening their respect for the diversity of Canada’s Francophonie.
