All federal public servants are expected to be aware of their language rights and responsibilities in the workplace. This online self-paced course reviews individual rights and responsibilities with respect to language of work and provides an opportunity to practise second language skills at the B and C levels in different workplace situations. Participants will learn about the expected use of official languages in the workplace, and will benefit from practical exercises focused on maintaining their second official language skills in writing and supervisory, meeting and training situations.

Topics include:

  • understanding the application of Part V of the Official Languages Act
  • improving language skills through writing exercises
  • reviewing work tools and learning resources
