Description

The 11th edition of Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA Plus) Awareness Week takes place from May 8 to 12, 2023. This year’s theme, Building a More Inclusive Future for All, underscores the importance of an enhanced action-oriented, whole-of-government approach to GBA Plus to meaningfully advance equality for all.

To continue the conversation, this event brings together a panel of deputy ministers to exchange on how today’s and tomorrow’s Canada – along with its federal public service – requires a deeper commitment to understanding and internalizing the lived experience of various groups of people in Canada, at the outset, as we develop policy, programs, services, legislation and regulation.

Participants will learn about the tools and knowledge at their disposal - including the increased availability of disaggregated data – that are at the heart of a better approach to building a more inclusive, equitable and just society. This is an essential discussion on the evolution of GBA Plus at an enterprise level towards intersectional approaches that help advance diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, anti-racism, and reconciliation, in our role as public servants both with the public we serve and within our own institution.

This event is held in partnership with Women and Gender Equality Canada.
