Description
Established by Parliament in 2018, Canadian Jewish Heritage Month, taking place in May, is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of Jewish Canadians to Canada’s social, economic, political and cultural fabric.
This informative and stereotype-busting event will celebrate Jewish Canadians and Jewish identity through a panel discussion with public servants from different Jewish sub-ethnicities and communities. These special guests will provide insight into their unique experiences of Jewish identity on many aspects of their lives, including in the workplace.
Participants will learn about the ethnocultural diversity of the Jewish community and about Jewish ethnicity as a core component of Jewish identity while gaining insight into some of the cultural differences of Jewish Canadians. Participants will also learn about how Canada benefits from their participation and unique perspectives.
A live Q&A will follow the panel discussion.
This event is presented in partnership with the Jewish Public Servants’ Network, Privy Council Office, Canadian Heritage, and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Centre of Diversity and Inclusion.
