Description
Access to safe and inclusive washrooms is a fundamental human need, but for transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse individuals, using public washrooms can lead to harassment and violence. The lack of safe and inclusive washrooms not only jeopardizes employees’ health, but also affects their sense of belonging to the workplace.
This insightful opening event features a representative from TransFocus who will discuss why it is important to have access to safe and inclusive washrooms in the workplace. The event also includes testimonials from public servants with lived experiences on this issue.
Participants will learn about the importance of providing safe and inclusive washrooms in the workplace and of the actions taken by government organizations to ensure access to these facilities.
This event is presented in partnership with the Public Service Pride Network.
