Description

The ability to change one’s name and gender ID marker in Government of Canada systems remains an obstacle for transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse public servants. The eradication of these obstacles is essential to creating a safe and affirming workplace for all public servants.

Featuring a representative from TransFocus and testimonials from public servants, this event will highlight some of the challenges that employees still face when trying to update their name and gender ID marker in federal systems.

Participants will learn about the impacts that the shortcomings in these processes have on transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse employees in the federal workplace as well as the actions being taken to address the issues, some successes and potential next steps.

This event is presented in partnership with the Public Service Pride Network.
