Description

Understanding concepts such as equity, diversity and inclusion is essential for building a more respectful and inclusive workplace for all employees. This online self-paced course introduces what it means to be equitable, diverse and inclusive, and how to support greater inclusion in the federal workplace. Participants will reflect on their own biases and privileges, while exploring practical actions they can take to foster inclusion and other areas to further their learning.

Topics include:

  • reflecting on unconscious biases, privilege, intersectionality and equity
  • being an ally for 2SLGBTQI+ communities
  • building an accessible public service
  • promoting anti-racism
  • exploring the importance of mental health and well-being

Notes:

This introductory course serves as a starting point for anyone who wants to learn about equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) to help create, foster and promote an inclusive workplace for everyone.

The course is organized into five modules, which participants can complete over 5 consecutive or non-consecutive days, depending on their availability. Upon full completion of each module, they will receive an email inviting them to proceed to the next day's module. Each module should take approximately 15 to 45 minutes to complete. Participants must successfully complete all five course modules to receive a certificate of completion.
