Description

May 5 marks the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People, also known as Red Dress Day. It is a day to remember, reflect upon and honour the victims, survivors, and their families and to acknowledge the ongoing violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people in Canada.

This event, taking place on Red Dress Day, features a diverse panel of Indigenous women who are role models and who will share their personal stories, their journeys and their struggles to overcome intergenerational trauma. Participants will learn about the obstacles and barriers that Indigenous women still face to this day, their resilience and the importance of personal strength in helping to overcome them.
