Description

Endorsed by Inuit and federal leadership at the Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee table in April 2022, the Inuit Nunangat Policy is a historic step towards reconciliation and marks the first time the Government of Canada has co-developed an overarching, whole-of-government policy of this nature. The policy is intended to be transformational and represents a significant commitment towards the shared goal of creating socio-economic and cultural equity between Inuit and other Canadians.

This policy-based event will provide a brief history of the Inuit Nunangat Policy, its elements and intent, as well as the collaborative role of the Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee in its development and implementation. Participants will learn how to apply the Inuit Nunangat Policy to foster the effectiveness of policies, programs, services and initiatives for Inuit in Canada.

  • Will David, Director, Legal Affairs, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami
