Description

Métis leader Louis Riel was as a founder of Manitoba and a central figure in the Red River and North-West Resistances. February 17, 2025, marks Louis Riel Day in Manitoba, honouring the legacy of this important historical figure and his contributions to the development of the Métis Nation and Canada.

This informative event will provide a Métis perspective and overview of the history and roots of the Métis Nation, as well as its present realities, as we proceed on our shared journey to reconciliation.

Participants will learn about and gain a better understanding of the Métis Nation and how it continues to assert its rights and advance with a renewed relationship with Canada through landmark self-government agreements.
