Description

Indigenous Veterans Day, observed annually on November 8, is an important occasion to honour the contributions and sacrifices of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people who have served and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces.

This commemorative event will explore the history and significance of Indigenous Veterans Day, sharing the experiences of Indigenous veterans past and present through storytelling and discussion. It will highlight the many challenges they have faced and honour the enduring legacy of their service to Canada.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the history of Indigenous veterans, the importance of recognition, and the role that remembrance plays in advancing reconciliation.
