Description

Advancing reconciliation requires creating space for Inuit voices, including those of Inuit youth, as their perspectives are essential for shaping future policies and programs. Understanding the lived realities and experiences of youth across Inuit Nunangat and in urban areas provides important context for public servants working in areas that impact Inuit communities.

To mark National Indigenous Peoples Day, this event will feature discussions with youth from Inuit Nunangat on themes that reflect their diverse realities and the challenges that matter most to them, including mental health and education.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Inuit youth, strengthening their ability to engage together respectfully, respond appropriately to their needs and perspectives, and integrate Inuit knowledge and lived experience into decision‑making.
