Subtle comments or behaviours, even when unintentional, can cause harm in the workplace by creating an environment where individuals feel excluded or undervalued. This micro-course introduces the concept of microaggressions towards Indigenous people and offers practical strategies to recognize and address them. Participants will deepen their understanding of microaggressions and learn how to help create a more inclusive and respectful work environment.
Topics include:
- defining microaggressions
- identifying common microaggressions experienced by Indigenous people
- acknowledging the impacts of microaggressions through a video case study
- responding respectfully when microaggressions occur
