Description

Orientation for Assistant Deputy Ministers (ADMs) supports recently appointed ADMs in transitioning to their new roles. This course provides an orientation for newly appointed ADMs to explore the expectations placed upon them and to strengthen their strategic leadership capabilities by sharing best practices with other experienced senior leaders. Participants will acquire the knowledge they need to transition to their new roles and to develop best practices for leading their organizations forward towards achieving excellence for Canadians.

Topics include:

• transitioning from DG to ADM
• managing key relationships and authorities
• using strategic thinking to support your Deputy Minister
• supporting talent management and performance management
• leading, creating and sustaining diverse, inclusive and healthy workplaces
