Engaging visuals and strong narrative writing can transform a typical presentation into one that can build consensus and drive change. This course provides instruction on how to use storytelling and design principles to build better presentations with PowerPoint, including creating presentation decks and delivering them effectively in a virtual environment. Participants will learn to identify and respond to audience needs, translate content into appealing visuals, and use simple techniques to maximize the visual impact of their presentation.

Topics include:

  • applying easy but effective design principles
  • identifying an approach and tailoring the presentation to an intended audience
  • constructing a narrative from complex information and data
  • creating and delivering decks in a virtual environment

Notes:

This course focuses on learning outcomes that are similar to the classroom course By Design: How to Use Visuals and Narratives to Build Better Decks. However, the virtual learning experience leverages hands-on tools and activities intended to better meet the needs of online learners.
