Required equipment for virtual courses

To fully participate in the School's virtual courses, you must have a camera and a microphone.

Facilitation Essentials is a series of practical courses for public servants at all levels that promotes the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to facilitate collaboration in a group setting. This course introduces the core elements of facilitation and demonstrates how enabling full group participation can lead to more inclusive solutions and lasting outcomes. Participants will gain insight into a range of contexts in which facilitation may be useful, and will have an opportunity to practise some widely applicable facilitation techniques.

Topics Include:

  • strengthening mutual understanding through facilitation
  • applying facilitation techniques in different public service scenarios
  • using facilitation techniques to meet goals more effectively
  • recognizing and challenging personal biases

Notes:

This course has been designed to allow participants at all levels to immediately apply the knowledge acquired to their day-to-day work.
