Description

Required equipment for virtual courses

To fully participate in the School's virtual courses, you must have a camera and a microphone.

The ability to provide a verbal briefing in a succinct, clear and compelling manner is a highly desirable skill in today's fast-paced work environment. This course presents best practices and strategies for the planning and delivery of well-constructed briefings that are tailored to the intended audience. Participants will learn to apply content and delivery considerations when developing their briefing message, and how to express themselves clearly and concisely.

Topics include:

  • developing a briefing outline that is clear, concise and well structured
  • identifying key considerations when developing briefing content
  • applying approaches that support engaging and persuasive briefings

Notes:

This course replaces Being Brief: Making a Request Efficiently (TRN102), which is no longer offered.

If you are an executive, Seeking a Decision from Executives in Two Minutes or Less (TRN222) is recommended instead. For learning support on preparing written briefing materials, consult Writing Briefing Notes (TRN118).
