Description
The ability to manage projects is a transferable and indispensable skill for public servants at all levels. This online self-paced course provides the foundational knowledge needed to explore and explain what project management is and how it applies to both professional and personal projects. Participants will be introduced to the key concepts and players, different project management approaches, and the four stages of the project life cycle: initiation, planning, execution, and close-out.
Topics include:
- introducing the key concepts, principles and constraints (the "what" of project management)
- identifying the stakeholders and the different stages of the project life cycle (the "who" and "when" of project management)
- exploring project management approaches and methodologies (the "how" of project management)
Notes:
This course is intended for all public servants, especially for those who have little or no project management experience.
