Description
Government projects must be effectively planned, implemented, monitored, controlled, and closed to be able to realize the expected benefits and results for Canadians. This online self-paced course explores the roles and responsibilities involved in managing projects within a federal government context. Participants will review the various policies, directives and procedures currently in place to further develop their competencies in planning and managing government projects.
Topics include:
- revisiting project management concepts and terminology
- defining the competencies needed to effectively manage projects
- identifying the roles and responsibilities of project actors
- reviewing the Policy on the Planning and Management of Investments
- reviewing the Directive on the Management of Projects and Programmes
Notes:
It is recommended that participants have some experience or previous training in project management prior to taking this course.
